For residential permits (new and remodel) the following information is required (that is, you must submit this information with your permit application)
 
1.  Complete Building Permit Application.
Each set of residential plans (items 2 – 10) shall contain two bound sets, each stapled together and individually rolled. Please allow five to ten working days for the review to be completed by the Builidng Division. When review is complete, we will contact the owner or owner’s representative to pick up the approved plans and the building permit.
 
2.  Utility availability approval letter. 
 
3. Site plans to scale specifying the following: 
·          Size and location of all structures on lot. Show north.
·          Dimensioned setbacks from all property lines and between buildings and structures.
·          Location and dimensions of all easements.
·          Location of walks, driveways and approaches.
 
4. Floor plans to scale specifying:
·          Residential and garage square footage.
·          Building layout, room dimensions, door and window sizes. Label all rooms as to use.
 
5. Structural plans specifying:
·          Foundation design (requires the seal of a professional engineer).
·          Building structural design. (This must identify all component sizes. Where non-conventional construction is to be used, drawings must have a registered professional engineer’s seal.)
·          Type of construction.
      Detail plans.
 
6.  Building elevation plans showing building elevations from all sides.
 
7.  Electrical plans including lighting plan and power plan.
 
8.  Mechanical plans that include system type and equipment location.
 
9.  Plumbing plans that include location of all plumbing fixtures.
 

10. Energy code analysis demonstrating compliance with the International Energy Conservation Code 2009. Show all calculations. Software can be downloaded from the Internet at energycodes.gov

 
Permit fee’s are due when the permit is picked up.  It is a violation of City ordinance to occupy a residence prior to the issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy.
