The Mayor has signed an order, which heightens the fact that price gouging in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey is strictly prohibited; however, citizens are encouraged to be on their guard. If a you believe that you have been unfairly charged for goods or services, you may notify the City or file a complaint directly with the Texas Attorney General either online at https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/cpd/price-gouging or by completing the attached form.
Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in the designated area can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov
As you begin the cleanup of your residential properties, note that garbage, brush and debris must be separated and placed out on the curb not on the street for pick up. Your regular residential garbage will be collected by Waste Management beginning tomorrow, Thursday, August 31st. Your brush and debris will be picked up by the City’s contracted debris removal company beginning in the next few days. Trash burning is illegal and strictly prohibited in the city limits.
